Waterloo Summer Fitness Series:

The Cedar Valley SportsPlex is happy to offer three fitness classes every Saturday in partnership with Sidecar Coffee and SingleSpeed Brewing. All classes offered are free to the public and will start at 9 AM at the RiverLoop Ampitheatre. We strongly encourage everyone to check out the wonderful farmers market before and joins us for a coffee and breakfast following the workout at SingleSpeed and Sidecar Coffee.

Class Descriptions:

POUND: join this fun jam session inspired by the infectious, energizing, and sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums. Designed for all fitness levels and ages. POUND provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up, and rocking out!

Quad X: A class featuring 4 intense rounds of cardio, core and various strength training in a HIIT style. Class will feature a large variety of training modalities from BOSU trainers, Battling ropes, Slam balls and more!

Country Heat: Step right in to this easy-to-follow completely exhilarating, country-dance inspired workout! No memorizing routines, just simply follow along to enjoy this low impact, high energy dance class set to the hottest country hits!

Yoga: For all levels, this class will include yoga postures built into yoga flows, breathing exercises and meditation to promote a healthy mind and body.

Team Cardio: A class built around friendly fun competition to get the most out of your workout. Team cardio will have you working harder than ever before by performing a variety of cardio and core exercises.

Mission Fit is a 10-week program set up with three different options to meet your needs. Pre and post measurements, weigh ins and physical testing will keep you motivated and pushing towards your goals. Exercises incorporating strength and circuit training are the focus to aid in functional fitness levels, making everyday life safer and happier.

A low resting heart rate means that your heart is efficient at transporting oxygenated blood throughout your body with each pump. The more efficient your heart is, the lower your heart rate.


Functional Screening is an effective method of observing movement imbalances within a player. Functional is used in regard to a movement that is used in common physical activities and sports


Glucose testing is primarily done to check for type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes. Diabetes is a condition that causes your blood glucose level to rise.


Hip to waist measurements are used as an indicator or measure of one’s health including the risk of developing serious health issues.


The InBody Test provides a comprehensive view of body composition balance.


Physical fitness tests measure strength, speed, power, endurance, and flexibility.


The Cardiovascular Test is important as heart disease is the number one cause of death globally. Steps to improving one’s heart health include: eating healthy, being active, and getting to a helahty weight.


Strength training improves your mood and boosts energy levels and plays a role in disease prevention.
